Our Story

Hey There,
Thanks so much for being here! My name is Megan Kiebler and I am the founder and owner of Juliann Threads & Textiles.

This passion project turned small, woman owned business was born in the fall of 2023 from the desire to heal and create something beautiful from a time of pain, confusion, and complex grief sourced from the passing of my mother in November of 2022.

My love for crafts, exploring a variety of mediums, and learning to use art as an outlet for expression and healing began as a young child as a favorite way to spend time with my momma, Jill Juliann.

I have explored with clay (both hand-building and wheel-throwing), crochet, knitting, sewing, dance (hula-hoop dance & salsa), writing, podcasting, social media/graphic design, and many more.

Over the years, each medium challenged and inspired me for a period of time but often became unsustainable as solely a hobby until - embroidery.

I discovered my love and passion for embroidery in summer of 2023 while working closely with an art therapist to create and work to alchemize the complex emotions coming up around grief leaving me incredibly open and exploritative, yet again.

I had many visions for what I thought I wanted this project to become but as with many of the best ideas in our lives, it was a happy accident.

Embroidery takes tedious focus, attention to detail, time, and consistency on a project to complete which I found becoming increasingly challenging.

My jewelry and future concept designs came from a space of needing quick bursts of confidence from completing a project. Enter - micro-embroidery.

Micro-embroidery has opened infinite options for functional and often, wearable art that helps boost the confidence of the adorned and provides pops of color, texture, and personality to any outfit.

I'm beyond grateful to be on this journey with you!

Warmly,
Meg Kiebler
